Mattia Cavaliere is an Italian cinematographer who prioritizes story above all else. Beginning his career in graphic design, he also worked in the grip and electric department on local projects.

He strives for high-quality composition and emotive cinematography, capturing images that serve the story and convey human emotions, regardless of the subject matter.

He learned under the mentorship of award-winning director of photography Denson Baker ACS NZCS. In 2024, he was selected by the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) to take part in the ASC’s Vision Mentorship Program. His mentor is Fernando Arguelles ASC AEC.

When he isn’t on set, Mattia loves to spend time with his wife and son Sebastian, watching movies, reading about Viking culture and playing with motion graphics and CGI images.
